Notes on Recipe Ingredients
To make Indian mint sauce you will need:
- Yogurt (yoghurt): you can use natural or plain yogurt/homemade yogurt. Make sure your yogurt is fresh and not sour. I prefer using natural yogurt to greek yogurt for the subtle flavour.
- Mint chutney: you can use my green mint chutney recipe as a base or store-bought if preferred. Mint chutney is made with fresh mint leaves, fresh coriander leaves and stem/fresh cilantro leaves and stem), green chillies, fresh lemon juice, salt and onions (with/without garlic or ginger). I also use apple (as a secret ingredient) in my mint chutney for a hint of sweetness and tanginess.
- Optional - minced garlic: add a pinch of minced garlic (using a small garlic clove) for extra flavour.

To make this Indian mint yogurt sauce you will need a bowl to whisk the yoghurt and stir in the mint chutney. If you are making mint chutney from scratch – you will need a stick blender (or small food processor) to combine the ingredients.
