Chocolate granola clusters
Ever tried chocolate clusters? You know the ones you see in the grocery stores or at coffee shops – sometimes they look like chocolate covered cornflakes and are bite-sized! I have been a HUGE fan of chocolate clusters for a very long time!
Since I started making healthier treats I have been on a mission to make chocolate clusters -but without added refined sugar and with no preservatives or palm oil!
So I am excited to bring you this recipe!
Now you may be thinking let’s just use cornflakes and pop them in a bowl of melted chocolate – right? Well that was how I used to make them – before I realised how much added refined sugar cornflakes contained!
I have transformed this incredible snack I love into a healthier treat! By combining just 2 of my original recipes = air fryer granola and homemade chocolate – both of these recipes have no added refined sugar, preservatives or palm oil! And the result is a delicious, healthy and nutritious snack which I enjoy even more than those former less healthy sugary snacks!
If you prefer using store-bought chocolate I would recommend using dark chocolate – this brings a rich chocolate flavour and typically has less sugar than milk chocolate. By using granola this snack incorporates nutrients including fibre and protein which comes from organic oats and nuts.

Notes on Recipe Ingredients
To make these chocolate clusters you need the following:
- Granola: you can use a batch of homemade granola in the air fryer or oven – this provides added crunch to these clusters. Alternatively, you can use store-bought granola (I prefer homemade for a healthier dessert with no added refined sugar!)
- Chocolate: this recipe uses homemade chocolate which is made with fresh ingredients and no added refined sugar. You can use a batch of homemade chocolate or regular store-bought dark or milk chocolate – you will just need to melt the chocolate to help it incorporate with the granola. Dark chocolate will add a richer chocolate flavour and is the best in this recipe (the homemade chocolate I use is dark chocolate)
These treats can also be made vegan by using my homemade chocolate or dairy-free by using dairy-free chocolate.
Equipment
All you need is one bowl to make these treats and cupcake holders (which are freezer friendly). I recommend using silicone cupcake holders as it is easier to remove the chocolate cups from them – plus this is eco-friendly/environmental friendly (as you can wash and reuse them!)

How to Make Chocolate Granola Clusters
- Add granola into a bowl. Make sure the bowl is completely dry.

Tips for the best chocolate clusters
- Adjust sweetness – whether you are using homemade chocolate or store-bought chocolate, taste the mixture and if you prefer your clusters a little bit sweeter you can add 1 teaspoon of maple syrup to the mixture before adding into the cups for sweetness
- Variations – you can add orange zest to the melted chocolate for a chocolate orange flavour
- Freeze to allow the chocolate clusters to set – as tempting as it is to eat the mixture I recommend freezing the chocolate clusters to help them set, this will give you that wonderful crunch you typically get from chocolate clusters! (Although if you prefer you can still enjoy them room temperature)!

- These chocolate clusters can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days or freezer for up to 3 months.
