This easy cheesy garlic naan bread is incredibly quick to whip up, full of flavor and delicious! Plus, this recipe is made without yeast or added sugar.
150gplain flourall-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
¼teaspoonBaking powder
⅛teaspoonSalt
110gNatural yogurt or homemade yoghurt
Garlic butter
25gsalted butter
1garlic clove
1tablespooncoriander/cilantrochopped
Handful shredded/grated cheddar and mozzarella cheese
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add whisked yogurt and stir with a wooden spoon until a sticky, shaggy dough forms.
Use a rubber spatula or your hands to lightly knead the dough until it comes together into a soft, slightly sticky ball.
Divide the dough into equal portions (4 small dough balls). Roll each into a ball, then flatten on a lightly floured surface using a rolling pin to form naan shapes.
Preheat a flat frying pan or tava over medium-high heat. Cook each naan for 2–3 minutes until bubbles appear.
Flip and cook the other side.
Repeat with remaining dough.
Make Garlic Butter: Melt butter, then stir in minced garlic and chopped coriander. Brush this mixture over the cooked naan.
Top each naan with grated cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
Grill on high heat for a few minutes until the cheese melts and turns golden. Slice, serve and enjoy.
Notes
Melted butter mixture: Brush each naan with the melted garlic butter mixture right after cooking for extra flavor and so the flatbread absorbs more of the flavor.
Serve fresh: this is best served fresh, grill the naans just before serving for the best taste and texture.
Divide dough into equal portions: for equal sized naan pieces.
