Wash and trim the Brussels sprouts, then quarter them.
Toss with 1 teaspoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (392°F) and roast the seasoned sprouts for 5 minutes, mixing the sprouts every 1-2 minutes.
In a pan, melt dairy-free butter or heat oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic for 1 minute.
Stir in the chili flakes and cook for a few seconds until fragrant.
Add the roasted Brussels sprouts and toss to coat with the garlic and chili.
Pour in the maple syrup, stirring to combine, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes to create a thick, caramel-like glaze that coats the sprouts. Remove from heat, serve fresh and enjoy!
Notes
Even roasting: Make sure the Brussels sprouts are evenly coated with oil, salt, and pepper to ensure they roast evenly. Keep an eye on the sprouts and continuously mix every few minutes in the air fryer for even roasting.
Coat well: Toss the sprouts well in the pan to ensure each piece is fully coated for maximum flavor.
Multiply as desired: to make this recipe for a larger gathering, double or triple the recipe quantities. You may need to slightly increase roasting time of the Brussels sprouts depending on the size of your air fryer.
